Governor John Bel Edwards responds to Senator John Kennedy after the senator claimed Gov. Edwards is mishandling flood funding.

According to www.myarklamiss.com, Sen. Kennedy alleged the governor isn't moving forward with flood recovery.

"It's difficult to lobby for more recovery funding when the governor has more than one billion dollars that's just sitting in a bank, waiting to be spent," Sen. Kennedy said.

In a letter addressed to the senator, Gov. Edwards writes, "While I have appreciated your willingness to work with me, time and again, your statements to the media are not based in reality and do not reflect the current state of our flood recovery."

Enclosing the letter, Gov. Edwards asks Sen. Kennedy and his camp to direct all questions concerning flood recovery to his office in the future.
