MONROE, La. (AP) - A 24-year-old man has been charged in a shooting at the Monroe Civic Center that left two dead and three wounded.
The News-Star reports  Jaterrious "Dra" Godfrey of Monroe was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Monroe Police Chief Quentin Holmes says Godfrey was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center with a $650,000 bond. It was not immediately clear whether Godfrey is represented by an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Holmes says officers were dispatched to the Civic Center parking lot shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday about a fight that broke out as patrons were leaving a private event attended by as many as 2,000 people.
Holmes says witnesses identified Godfrey as one of the shooters.
