The Town of Washington has canceled its Mardi Gras parade. Representatives from town hall say the marching bands who normally play in the parade all had prior engagements and could not perform this year, resulting in the cancellation. We tried to contact Mayor Joseph Pitre, but he was unavailable for comment.

For the last 11 years CAJUNDOME management has raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Acadiana. Last year we tried something new - we auctioned off the CAJUNDOME Naming Rights for Mardi Gras week. We had such success that we're offering up this opportunity again this year.
