Zonta Club Accepting Scholarship Applications

Zonta Club of Lafayette is now accepting applications for the 2012 Louisiana Woman Scholarship. The deadline to apply is September 30, 2012. The application is available by going to http://www.zontalafayette.com/scholarships.html or by emailing lisa.leblanc@lusfiber.net

SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicant Requirements:
--She should be the major wage earner of the family
--She should be an undergraduate
--She should have satisfactory results on SAT/ACT, or entrance exam scores
--She should be accepted at a Louisiana university, college or technical school (in non-remedial courses)
--She should be a Louisiana resident and a U.S. citizen

METHOD OF SELECTION: Each of the three Zonta Clubs in Louisiana (Lafayette, Shreveport, & New Orleans) will accept applicants to be presented to the Scholarship Selection Committee. Each club will recommend one applicant to the Scholarship Chair. The winner will receive the Louisiana Woman's Scholarship ($1,500.00). The runner up in the Zonta Club of Lafayette will receive a $500.00.
