ZACHARY, La. (AP) - The Zachary Community School Board has approved a 32-month contract for new Superintendent Scott Devillier, who was chosen Oct. 25 to succeed Warren Drake.
The contract, approved Thursday, sets Devillier's base salary at $148,000 per year, with the possibility of earning up to $12,000 more per year for leading the district and individual schools in reaching specific academic goals.
Rather than provide Devillier with a vehicle or gas credit card, the board decided to pay him $700 a month for his travel in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The board will begin advertising Friday to fill Devillier's old position as director of operations and the new position of executive director of academics and support programs.
