Youngsville Man Killed in Earl's Furniture Crash

State police have identified the man who died after driving his truck into a furniture store near Abbeville. Troopers say 22-year-old David Hilton of Youngsville was driving along LA 14 Thursday afternoon when he ran off the road, overturned, and hit a tree before slamming into Earl's Furniture. Hilton was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 27-year-old Grant Vercher of Erath, was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries. Troopers say neither man was wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
