Young Man Shot at Block Party

On March 25, 2012, detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office learned that a male victim, age 19, was shot in the arm. According to detectives, the victim did not disclose many details in the incident. The information given was that the victim had attended a "Block Party" in the area of Anderson St at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the City of New Iberia. The victim advised he heard someone in the crowd yell out that a person had a gun. At that moment, the victim ran from the area, but then realized he had been shot in the arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and released shortly after.
