5k's, 10k's, half marathons... they aren't just for runners. They are great goals if you are a walker and just want to keep yourself going. If you keep walking regularly, you can finish the races they are great exterior motivation!
3.1 is a 5k and you don't have to run it. Team in training coach Edie Riedel says start in the back of the pack and walk at your own pace, cover the distance.
But maybe you've been walking and you'd like to start jogging or running, really there's no difference, Edie says just give it a try.
Just start slow, you aren't racing against anyone. So if you've been moving good for you! If you need that extra motivation and need another goal pick a race and sign up. We're in the heart of the season so there are plenty to choose from.
