You Gotta Move Goes Red First Week Info!

Congratulations on your decision to participate in the You Gotta Move Goes Red Program.

Over the next 12 weeks, you will discover how your body responds to foods, establish healthy eating and exercise habits that will last a lifetime and get results! Each week you will find your success, nutrition and training strategies for the next week posted here.

As part of the program, you may also register to have your success tracked by our coach Dawn A. Foreman and to receive recipes and emails of encouragement from Dawn and more information from the specialists at Heart Hospital who has graciously agreed to sponsor our program. If you'd like to take advantage of this portion of the program, email us at gottamove@katctv.com.

Remember, there will be a free screening event Friday morning from 5am until 9am at Heart Hospital of Lafayette for anyone wishing to participate in the You Gotta Move Goes Red program. You should fast the night before in order to get an accurate cholesterol reading. You will get your measurements and numbers so you know where you are starting from and can celebrate your success when you are finished!

For further support, you can visit the American Heart Association's website and enroll in "Life's Simple 7." It's a program to help you assess your risks and stay on track. http://mylifecheck.heart.org/

When it comes to any program in which you commit to make positive lifestyle improvements, you are in charge of your decisions each day and your decisions guide you to success or failure. You are in control of what you put in your mouth not the food. You are in charge of how you feel each day and how your day will be.

Are you a thermostat or a thermometer?
A thermometer measures the temperature (or attitude) of the room and from that determines what their day will be; the thermostat dictates the temperature or attitude of the room and therefore takes control of what their day will be. Be the thermostat in your own life. You must take control of your attitude if you are going to make positive lifestyle improvements.
