The majority of viewers who answered out KATC Resolution poll said the "losing weight" was the goal for 2011. A big part of getting those pounds off... YOU GOTTA MOVE! KATC's Tracy Wirtz sat down with trainer Dawn Foreman to help you do it right. There are three things to remember: first, move every day. If you have "planned" activity like walking or something 3-4 days a week, at least stretch on your "off" days. Second, work in some strength training. Dawn says you can do this at home with things like squats, lunges, push-ups, crunches and lower ab work. If you work out at a gym and your workouts are geared toward cardio, change it up to include weight training. For instance, do your cardio classes two or three days a week. Then on the other day or two, hop on the treadmill or elliptical for 15 minutes then work with the weights the remainder of the time. That way you build strength and endurance... And burn more calories at rest! Third, ask for help. If you are a member of a gym, there are (or should be) people there who can guide you and help you. They want to see you succeed!
