If you've been following the You Gotta Move Goes Red program or would like more information, you are invited to a social this Friday evening (3/18) from 5:30 to 7 at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. It's an opportunity for you to ask questions of trainers, dieticians and your fellow "movers." GMA's Tracy Wirtz will also be there as well as our fearless leader Dawn Foreman. There will be food and beverages for you to sample and ideas to help you stay on track. You can also weigh in and get measurements to see how far you've come. Can you believe we are already in week 7? As the "forbidden list" shrinks, the key to staying on track is "everything in moderation." Dawn reminds us that there is no need to count calories as long as you are making healthy food choices and eating only until you are satisfied. There is never an excuse to overeat. One way to make sure you don't do that is to use a smaller plate when you eat. Another is to eat more slowly. Also, you may have found that you lost weight faster in the first few weeks of the program and that weight loss is beginning to level off. Dawn says as long as you continue to trend downward, that leveling is typical. If you start to gain or plateau for more than a week or two, let her know and she will review your meal plans and help you come up with a way to get you going again.
