On February 27, 2010 The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Detectives received information on vehicle burglaries that were occurring within the city of New Iberia, predominately in the Oak Street and Parkview area. Detectives conducted surveillance in the vicinity the burglars were taking place. A vehicle matching the description of the suspects was observed and later stopped by Detectives.
Two individuals were in the vehicle, Blake Foco age 19 of New Iberia and a male Juvenile age 16 also of New Iberia, were detained and later questioned. It was determined by Detectives the two suspects were involved in at least two burglaries and possibly linked to over 25 vehicle burglaries in the past two months. Detectives also are investigating the possibility of accomplices the two may have had.
Foco was charged with simple burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He was then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail and is being held on a $6000 bond. The juvenile was also charged with simple burglary and released to the custody of his parents. Detectives also were able to recover several stolen items from the suspect's vehicle.
