The father of Danielle Wright says pieces of a boat recently found in the Timor Sea are not from the vessel on which his daughter was traveling.
The Australian newspaper NOTHERN TERRITORY NEWS reported that a a fishing boat's netting caught the mast and sail of a sunken yacht. However, the article stated that authorities could not determine if those parts matched those of the NINA, which was last seen in June 2013.
Ricky Wright tells KATC that he and others close to the search for the NINA have ruled out that the mast and sail are those of the missing yacht. Wright says the size, shape, and color of the pieces found are different from the mast and sail of the NINA.
Wright says he is still in touch with officials from New Caledonia. He says that nation's officials are keeping an eye out during their patrols for any clues or evidence that might be in the water.
