SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Two women have been booked with theft for fraudulently depositing Social Security checks belonging to one of the women's father, whose death was allegedly concealed and his body kept in an ice chest for about two years.
Deborah Fisher and her roommate Heidi Todd were already in St. Tammany Parish Jail facing charges stemming from their alleged attempt to hide the death of Fisher's father, 83-year-old Charles Fisher.
On Thursday, parish officials arrested the pair on theft charges after determining they were fraudulently depositing Charles Fisher's Social Security checks.
Deborah Fisher is awaiting trial on one count of mutilating or disinterring human remains and one count of unlawful disposal of remains. Todd is in jail for one count of unlawful disposal of remains.
The women were first arrested in March.
