In Opelousas, three women are accused of firing shots during an argument near the 700 block of Hollier Street. Several shots were fired, according to Opelousas Police Dept. Public Information Officer Sgt. Jody White. Officers found two bullets in front of the home of one of the suspects. "Two of the weapons used in the incident, a small caliber semi-automatic handgun and a revolver, have been seized and tagged as evidence at this time," said White. No one was injured. More arrests are expected.
Altogether, police arrested five people: Pamela Arvie, 29, is charged with 3 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and 5 counts of Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities, Nathan Batiste, 19, is charged with Assault by Drive-by Shooting, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and 6 counts of Illegal Use of Weapons and Dangerous Instrumentalities, Katressa Johnson, 28, is charged with Principle to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Principle to Assault by Drive-by Shooting, and Principle to 6 counts of Illegal Use of Weapons and Dangerous Instrumentalities, Latoura Frederick, 25, is charged with Assault by Drive-by Shooting, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and 6 counts of Illegal Use of Weapons and Dangerous Instrumentalities, and John Texada, 18, is charged with Principle to 3 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Principle to 5 counts of Illegal Use of Weapons and Dangerous Instrumentalities, and Illegal Carrying of Weapons.
