A woman charged with cruelty to the infirm has received a suspended sentence of six years. In 2010, Christine Freeman abused a paralyzed elderly woman at Savoy Care Center in Mamou. As part of her sentence, she had to relinquish her Certified Nursing Assistant license and must take anger management classes. She'll be on probation for five years, and if she violates any condition of probation, she could spend six years in prison. Mary Frances Howard was a resident at the nursing home for four years after a series of strokes left her paralyzed.
