BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Bossier City police are investigating the death of a resident of a center that assists individuals who have intellectual and development disabilities.
Authorities say staffers at the Arc of Acadiana-Northwest found the 53-year-old woman's body Thursday morning in a bayou about 100 yards behind the facility just north of Interstate 220.
The woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was noticed missing from her room about 4:45 a.m. Staffers told police they immediately began searching the grounds for her and located her body in the bayou about an hour later.
