Woman Killed In Saturday Storm

Rayne Mayor Jimbo Petitjean confirmed a 21 year old woman was killed in Saturday's storm whan a tree fell on her home. Petitjean said she was protecting her young daughter when the tree fell. KATC's Tracy Wirtz spoke with the victim's family and will report tonight at 6:00.
At least 12 others were injured in the storm and there are several reports that a tornado touched down. Approximately 1,500 people in Rayne are under mandatory evacuations due to gas leaks and damage. For information on evacuations call 337-334-4443.
