NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police are searching for the driver of a gray or silver Saturn Vue that struck and killed a 53-year-old woman.
John Gagliano, chief investigator for the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office, tells The Times-Picayune the woman has been identified as Carolyn Hatch of New Orleans.
Police say Hatch was killed shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday while crossing the street.
Police say the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit Hatch, causing her to fly 30 feet in the air before landing. The car then ran over her arm. Hatch died on the scene
Investigators say the vehicle may have damage to its front.
