Woman jumps from vehicle, dies

BORDELONVILLE, La. (AP) - Avoyelles Parish sheriff's deputies say a 36-year-old woman died after she apparently leaped from a vehicle driven by her husband.
The Town Talk reports Paula Gaspard was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, David Gaspard, when she tried to exit the vehicle Saturday while traveling on La. Highway 451 in
Bordelonville.
Deputies say she exited the vehicle for an unknown reason, hit the pavement and ended up about 70 feet from where she left the vehicle.
Investigators say David Gaspard was arrested and booked with first-offense DWI.
Deputies say the investigation continues into the woman's death.
