A Baton Rouge woman has been indicted in the 2000 fatal stabbing of her business partner.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged 48-year-old Sonya Rene Kimber with second-degree murder Wednesday in the slaying of 35-year-old Monique Edwards on Nov. 14, 2000.
Kimber also was indicted on a charge of aggravated second-degree battery in the stabbing of Edwards' daughter, who was 2 weeks old at the time and suffered minor injuries in the attack.
Police have said DNA testing linked Kimber to the killing.
The women operated S&M Outreach Inc., a social service agency.
The case has been assigned to state District Judge Don Johnson.
