CROWLEY, La. (AP) - A woman has been sentenced to four years in prison at hard labor in connection with a crash that left a man dead.
Loretta R. Richard was charged with vehicular homicide in the Oct. 19, 2008, crash that killed Chad Blyne Trahan, who was a passenger in her vehicle. They had been at a bar in Acadia Parish earlier in the evening of the crash and Richard testified that she had been drinking.
State District Judge Kristian Earles
sentenced Richard to eight years in prison at hard labor on Monday, but suspended four years.
