LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A jury has found a 47-year-old Lafayette
woman guilty of the April 2009 second-degree murder of her live-in
Mary Henderson Trahan was found guilty
Wednesday in the April 20 shooting death of 32-year-old George
Assistant District Attorney Daniel M. Landry III said Trahan
shot Barbu in the back with a .357-caliber revolver while Barbu was
leaning over a bathroom sink to wash his hands.
State District Judge Edward D. Rubin will sentence Trahan Aug.
26. Second-degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence.
