Woman found dead in apartment complex

The body of a woman police say was stabbed to death was discovered this morning in a Patterson apartment complex. Police found the body of 26-year-old Dominique Bennett shortly after 8:30 this morning after breaking down the door to her Williams Street apartment. According to Chief Patrick LaSalle, his office received a call from a neighbor who could not reach Bennett and feared for her safety. Chief LaSalle says his department received another call shortly afterward saying Bennett may have suffered bodily harm. According to Chief LaSalle, Bennett had been dead for several days. Police have identified a subject. The case remains under investigation.
