LEESVILLE, La. (AP) - A Pitkin woman is facing a cruelty charge after being arrested when authorities found injuries to her 2-year-old child.
Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam Craft said in a news release that 23-year-old Shaylan Anding was booked with cruelty to a juvenile after authorities received a complaint on June 29 regarding the injury.
After questioning, Craft said Anding admitted that she spanked her child with a paddle.
Anding posted a $2,500 bond and was released from the parish jail.
It couldn't be determined if Anding had an attorney.
