BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State lottery officials say Bobby Reaux of New Orleans claimed a $1 million Powerball prize from the July 6 drawing on behalf of BCT, a self-named group of co-workers from Macy's at Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie.
Reaux purchased the Quick Pick ticket that matched all five white-ball numbers but missed the Powerball number.
She explained the group name is comprised of the first initial of each member of the group, which also includes Chris Smith and Patricia Morvant. Morvant said the group has been playing Powerball together for the last two years.
Reaux said each group member will receive a little over $233,000 after federal and state tax withholdings.
