Woman charged with attempted murder after running over boyfriend

According to police reports, a New Iberia woman intentionally ran over her boyfriend Thursday, then drove him to a nearby hospital where she was arrested.

Tamika St. Julien, 31, 1300 block of Twenty Arpent Road, New Iberia, was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder. St. Julien was then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a local hospital in reference to an individual being struck by a vehicle. Detectives learned that a vehicle struck the victim, age 33, as he was walking along the roadway of Twenty Arpent Road near Lewis Street in New Iberia.

Detectives said they believe St. Julien struck the victim intentionally as she drove her vehicle on Twenty Arpent Road. Detectives learned that St. Julien and the victim were involved in an altercation prior to the incident.

The victim was advised to be in stable condition.
