An 18-year-old Lake Charles woman is accused of threatening to stab a man after becoming agitated during a card game.
On January 25, at 4:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles in reference to a disturbance. According to deputies, Mary A. Simien began agitated during a card game and began chasing the victim around the home with a knife, threatening to stab him. Deputies say Simien also ripped several items off of the walls of the home, including a natural gas powered wall heater. She's also accused of pulling kitchen drawers apart and shattering several pieces of dishware. When the victim attempted to restrain Simien, she allegedly struck him in the head.
Simien was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated assault, simple battery, and criminal damage to property over $500. She was released on a $2,500 bond set by Judge Richard Wilson.
