Stronger southerly winds will kick in today as low pressure deepens out to our west and a ridge of high pressure remains over the western Atlantic. The pressure gradient will tighten across the Gulf coast bringing winds near 20mph sustained and gusts over 25mph at times. A Wind Advisory is in effect today.
A cold front will approach the area Thursday pushing through Thursday night. A few showers will be possible later today and Thursday with thunderstorms becoming likely Thursday night. The cold front should move through quickly so only brief heavy rains are expected and only a slight chance for these storms becoming severe.
Colder weather returns for Friday with highs in the 60s. Warmer weather, at least during the day will be around for the weekend. Highs in the 70s, with lows in the 40s and 50s.
