Wet Weekend, Strong Storms Possible?

The weekend is finally here, yet not in the clear weather wise. The chance for showers and thunderstorms possible both Saturday and Sunday as a shortwave is expected to drift southward overnight through tomorrow. Abundant moisture should help develop activity possibly producing heavy rainfall. Not ruling out some strong storms forming that could allow times of torrential downpours, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and small hail. Best chance for any strong to severe conditions should be tomorrow rather than Sunday. Rain showers, storms, and heavy rain are possible, yet cloud cover should impede severe activity to develop.
Rainfall totals could reach 1-2 inches over the weekend, areas that receive heavy downpours could see more. Be safe traveling! Wet roads and water build-up due to flash flooding could become dangerous. Keep your raincoat handy!
