WESTLAKE, La. (AP) - City officials in Westlake are hoping to promote the community and keep residents better informed with a newly revised website.
Jimmy Ashworth, the city's finance director, says the project has been in the works for several years and the site launched in mid-July.
Ashworth told the American Press the old site was reconstructed after looking at area websites for the cities of Lake Charles, Sulphur and DeQuincy. He says the new site - www.cityofwestlake.com - is more user-friendly than its predecessor.
Ashworth says the new site also is full of information including links to schools, local businesses, community service events and things going on in the recreation district. He says the updated site also includes better graphics, pictures and contact information for services like utilities or permits.
