West Monroe sets budget for fiscal year 2013

WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - West Monroe aldermen have approved an $18.1 million 2013 spending plan.
The News-Star reports total general fund revenue projected during the 2013 fiscal year is $18.5 million. When the 2013 fiscal year ends, the city expects to have a $6.7 million general fund balance thanks to several years of surpluses.
The city of West Monroe's fiscal year begins July 1.
The West Monroe Board of Aldermen approved the spending plan Tuesday.
The 2013 fiscal year budget also includes a 2 percent pay raise for all city employees
