ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) - West Feliciana Parish sheriff's deputies have recovered half of the 80 tablet computers stolen in a school burglary.
Lt. Col. Archer Lee tells The Advocate five people, including three juveniles, have been arrested in the theft of a laptop computer and 80 iPad 2 tablets during a June 26 burglary of West Feliciana High School.
Lee says state police investigators recovered nine iPads in Baton Rouge, Wilkinson County, Miss., sheriff's deputies recovered three more and the missing laptop, and West Feliciana deputies found 28 iPads.
The search for the remaining 40 devices is continuing.
Investigators withheld information about the arrests until Tuesday while they worked to recover as many of the tablets as possible.
Lee says the suspects have been booked with one count each of simple burglary.
