DERIDDER, La. (AP) - The second-degree murder trial of a Pitkin man accused of killing a 27-year-old DeRidder woman has been moved to October. That's according to Beauregard Parish Assistant District Attorney James Blankenship.
The American Press reports Billie Joe Weldon is accused of killing Kimberly Ann Stephens, whose body was found in August 2009 near Pleasant Hill.
During the 2009 investigation, the Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office determined in its preliminary results that Stephens died from head trauma.
Investigators said Stephens' body had been exposed for more than a day when it was found.
Weldon is being held in the Beauregard Parish Jail.
