Let there be light. You can catch the twinkling lights in two different locations. Head to Le Vieux Village in Opelousas for the 8th annual Lighting of the Village, or the Oil Center in Lafayette for the Festival of Light. Both events begin at 5pm Friday night.
The Academy of Sacred Heart once again hosts Christmas at Coteau. If your in the mood for live and silent auctions along with breakfast with Santa and the Jingle Bell Jog, make your way to Grand Coteau. Events run through Saturday afternoon.
In the spirit of giving? You can donate an unwrapped toy or canned good at the Clifton Chenier Center for The Extra Mile drive from 11am-7pm this Saturday. The Law office of Attorney Elbert Guillory will also be accepting toy donations on Saturday at 633 E. Landry St. in Opelousas. Call 942-6328 for more information.
Santa rolls into the Hub City this Sunday. The annual Sonic Christmas Parade kicks off at 2pm in Downtown Lafayette at Jefferson and E. Cypress St. This year's parade features 15 floats and several local bands.
