Parents, Earn while you learn! Southern University in Baton Rouge is inviting parents and caregivers of children ages 8-13 to participate in We CAN! Louisiana. This program will teach parents how to help their children make healthy food choices and increase physical activity to prevent health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Registration will be held during all of Dec, 2012 and classes begin Jan. 9, 2013; until May 31, 2013. Parents will earn approximately $300.00 for participating in the weekly sessions. Sessions will be held at the Opelousas community site.
