The Town of Arnaudville is shutting off part of its water system at 8:00 AM, Monday, October 28, 2013 and Tuesday, October 29, 2013 for improvements to the water system. The water will be turned back on by 5:00 PM each day. Those customers who will have their water turned off have been given NOTICES and are aware of the turn-offs. The customers in the following areas are affected by the shut-off:
Guidroz Street (Hwy 347) from Main Street to Fourth Street
Olive Street from Guidroz Street to Washington Street
Because of the shut-off, the water produced by our water system in those areas will be of questionable microbiological quality when water is restored.
Therefore, as a precaution, the Town of Arnaudville is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective 8:00 AM, Wednesday, October 28, 2013 for the above affected areas. This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Arnaudville water supply system which is expected to be by the end of the day on Thursday, October 31, 2013.
It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water in these areas before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a tolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.
Again, please be sure to disinfect your water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.
The Town of Arnaudville will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals - Office of Public Health that samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding the time and days please contact the Town of Arnaudville at (337) 754-5911.
