The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries has a warning for fishermen about a potentially dangerous bacteria. Vibrio vulnificus is a flesh-eating bacteria found in saltwater and most common in summer. It can cause an infection when exposed to open wounds or when fishing.
