WANTED: Warrant issued for alleged Crowley murderer; victim identified

Crowley Police Department has identified the victim in Saturday's West 7th Street murder as Kenneth Drake of Crowley.

Chief of Police K.P. Gibson says that another Crowley man is now wanted in connection with the homicide.

"Today we are releasing the identity of the suspect in this murder and ask for the public to assist us in bringing him to justice" stated Chief KP Gibson. Officers secured an arrest warrant for a single count of First Degree Murder for Damaris Harmon, black male, age 21. Harmon is 6'3" in height and weighs 160 pounds with short hair. His last known address is 415 West Andrus in Crowley.

"This was not a random act, as our investigation shows that Harmon entered the residence with force and sought the victim in the residence. Once the shooting occurred, Harmon fled the scene in a dark colored SUV. Harmon should be considered armed and dangerous" stated Chief Gibson.

Anyone with information about this homicide or about Harmon's whereabouts is urged to call Crowley Police at 337-783-1234 or Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 337-789-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and can receive up to a $1,000 cash reward.
