Wanted: Robert Ramirez

Lafayette marshals are looking for Robert Ramirez . He's wanted for second offense OWI. OWI stands for operating a car while intoxicated. Not many people know this but the car doesn't have to be moving for you to be charged. You could be sitting in your car with the key in the ignition and if you are intoxicated in any way you can get cited.

This is exactly the case with Robert Ramirez. Marshals say he violated his probation for a second offense OWI. This happened way back in June of 2006. The New Orleans resident was suppose to show up to court and didn't. A warrant for his arrest was issued in august. Officials say he is a danger to society.

Lafayette is ranked one of the highest parishes in the state for fatalities involving drunk drivers. When found Ramirez could face up to six months in jail. If you have any information contact the lafayette marshal's office at 291-8789.
