Wanted Fugitive Captured in Opelousas

Officers with the Opelousas Police Department's Crime Suppression Team caught a wanted fugitive on the run from the United Stares Marshall Service for over a year. Officers apprehended a Eddie Edmond 32 of 430 W Kelly Street Church Point La. Officers with the Opelousas Police Departments Crime Suppression Team as well as the U S Marshalls Service and the Lafayette Marshalls Office have been actively searching for Mr. Edmond for a parole violation on a charge of manslaughter. Officers got information that Mr. Edmond was in the Opelousas area Monday night and following leads located Mr. Edmond and took him into custody without incident. Mr. Edmond will be turned over to the US Marshalls Service where he will be sent back to prison.
