WANTED: Deputies seek woman alleged in St. Martin Truck Stop theft

St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office seeks information from the public about a black female seen on surveillance this past Sunday allegedly stealing a truck-stop manager's wallet.

Deputies report that on Aug. 3, the woman entered the St. Martin Truck Stop located on the Evangeline Thruway in St. Martin Parish. Shortly after entering the store, according to the report, she distracted the cashier by claiming there was an oil spill on the floor. Deputies explain that when the cashier walked away from the register to confirm the spill, the female went behind the counter and stole the manager's wallet.

The female suspect reportedly left the store shortly after and was observed driving a gray 2013 or 2014 Nissan Sentra, as seen in surveillance footage. Deputies ask that, if anyone who may know the identity of the suspect, please contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at (337) 394-3071.
