LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) - A state district judge has sentenced a Walker woman to serve 10 years in prison after the woman pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.
The Livingston Parish District Attorney's Office tells The Advocate 44-yeaer-old Donna Breaux will serve her sentence without the benefit of probation or parole.
Prosecutors say Breaux was driving south on La. 16 in French Settlement in September 2012 when she crossed the centerline and collided with a van.
The driver of the van, 71-year-old Bonnie Kaye Sanders, died from her injuries.
Investigators later discovered Breaux had amphetamines, hydrocodone, cocaine and marijuana in her system at the time of the crash.
