WALKER, La. (AP) - The Walker Board of Aldermen has agreed to put to a vote a newly proposed ordinance defining and setting up control laws for keeping "dangerous and vicious dogs."
According to the proposal accepted Monday by the board and headed for a public hearing and final vote July 13, Mayor's Court would determine what is a dangerous and vicious dog.
The Advocate reports the proposed ordinance states that any dog that, when unprovoked, engages in any behavior that requires a defensive action by any person to prevent bodily injury when the person and the dog are off the property of the dog's owner will be determined to be "dangerous and vicious."
