The Iberia Performing Arts League presents its final show of the season, Wait Until Dark by Fredrick Knott at the Essanee Theater (126 Iberia Street, New Iberia). Performances will be May 29 thru June 8, 2014. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night performances are at 7:30 pm with Sunday matinees at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Delaune's Pharmacy, Paul's Flower Shop, or Accentrics on Main Street. This psychological thriller revolves around a blind housewife trapped inside her apartment as she is terrorized by murderous con-men looking for a heroin stuffed doll they believe is in her apartment. When she realizes that she is the victim of a bizarre charade, she decides to play their game and gets rid of all of the lights in the apartment, leaving herself and the con-men to maneuver in the dark until the game ends.
Directed by Travis Guillory, the show stars Anna Edwards (Susy Hendrix), David Arceneaux (Harry Roat), Perry Ledet (Mike Talman), Steven "Smitty" Smith (Sergeant Carlino), Carlin Sekhani and Kelbi LaShare (Gloria), Phanat Xanamane (Sam Hendrix) and Bob Sidman (Policeman).
