ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) - The West Feliciana Parish Police Jury has agreed with a committee recommendation to sell the parish hospital 14.8 acres of land for a new hospital site.
The Advocate reports Monday's action drew criticism from supporters of the hospital expansion who wanted the land donated or sold for a token payment.
The jury voted to sell the land at "fair market value" after it is appraised.
Hospital board Chairman Leonard Sullivan said Monday the jury got the land from a donation. He said DEMCO built the ball park in exchange for getting a service franchise in the area.
