Voter Registration Deadline Wednesday

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana residents who want to vote in
the Aug. 28 congressional primaries have until Wednesday to
register or to change their political party affiliations in advance
of the election.
The Secretary of State's Office says Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. is
the voter registration deadline, to make it in time for the
primaries next month.
People can register to vote or change their registrations online
at www.GeauxVote.com or at their local registrar of voters' office.
The Aug. 28 ballot includes party primaries in the U.S. Senate
race, with both Republican incumbent David Vitter and his main
Democratic challenger Charlie Melancon facing opponents in their
respective parties.
Several congressional districts around the state also have party
primaries.
