A recent poll of likely Louisiana voters has Incumbent David Vitter (R) leading Charlie Melancon (D) in the U.S. Senate race.
The Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of 500 people was conducted on August 30th. The findings show Vitter with 54% support, Melancon with 33%, 5% prefer some other candidate, while 7% are not sure.
The survey also found 70% of all Louisiana voters regard Vitter as a conservative, while 46% of voters see Melancon as a liberal.
