Vinton Strip Club Wins Alcohol Permit

Under court order, Calcasieu Parish police jurors have reversed themselves and granted an alcohol
permit to a Vinton strip club. The permit had been denied last month. The company seeking the
permit, Vinton Golf & Travel Club, went to court. On Monday, Judge Robert Wyatt ruled that the
Police Jury must issue the permits the company is eligible for. The parish's attorney, Allen L. Smith Jr., had warned police jurors that if they denied the permit request, they could face legal action.
Smith said the issue will nos read to the state, which considers alcohol permits at the recommendation of local governments.
