Vinton man accused of rape and incest

A Vinton man is accused of having sex with a juvenile family member on numerous occasions.

On January 17, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint regarding Christopher S. Benoit, 40, of Vinton, allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with a family member on numerous occasions, beginning in 2009 when the victim was 9 years old.

After further investigation, Benoit was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of aggravated rape; and 1 count of aggravated incest.

Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $270,000.

The Department of Child and Family Services are investigating this complaint as well.
